Monday Night Football Will "Get Rowdy" no more...

Monday Night Football - a forty year tradition making the first day of the work week most definitely tolerable during the fall season. A day we no longer totally dread, and rather look forward to.
A staple part of the MNF is the song that kicks off the weekday sports festivities. A song that's recognized by football fans both near and far - Hank William's Jr's "All My Rowdy Friends Are Coming Over Tonight." This song just makes you want to grab a beer and your bestest friend and head to the local bar to celebrate being an American.
In 2006, Hank reworked his "Rowdy" song to fit the MNF theme. In fact, October of that same year - Hank Williams Jr. shouted the "rowdy" phrase on top of the infamous "Cowboy Star" at Texas Stadium on the 50 yard line before the Cowboys kick-off.
However, this week's Monday game featuring the Colts and Bucs was sans Rowdy - and it will be continually from here on out. So why would ESPN pull such a fabulous musical tradition? Think of it as the separation of sports and state. Politically Charged Hank Williams Jr. went on Fox and Friends Monday morning and likened our President to Adolf Hitler (we'll hold our opinions on this one...AHEM).
Suffice to say - we'll miss the fabulous tradition.

Lesson learned - NEVER mix sports and state.

Stay informed,

Darling Dolls,
I apologize profusely for being gone last week - and not bringing you loads of sports-fabulous goodness. However, thinkin' I had a pretty good reason. Last week I got engaged!! My sports-lovin' boyfriend is now my sports-loving fiance'. Todd and I celebrated in Idaho last week with family on the golf course, and at the Boise State football game - pictures and stories to follow...

However, today we're back. So strap on your pink cleats, and let's begin!

Sunday Morning Closet Shopping!

Image: Teaching in High Heels
I love sports brand apparel - I do. However, there are times when I want to keep with the absolute basics, and build outfits around staple elements. As I was perusing DIY blogs the other day, I came across this outfit ensamble for a Glam-Chicago Bears fan. Fan or not of this team, these colors are completely interchangeable, - and the pairings are superbly fabulous. This further proves you maintain team spirit on a budget - right from your very own closet...

Bagging Rights On The Links!

Image: SI.com
Chicago Bulls Hall-a-Famer Michael Jordan is arguably the best player in the history of basketball. He's won six titles, and blings two hands filled with hardware. Jordan's name synonymous with raw talent, precision, and a keen bounce in high tops, that nobody has compared to since.
The legendary player closed his basketball locker in 2003.
Since then, he's spent his retirement opening golf lockers at the famed Medina Country Club in Chicago.
In fact, when my  boyfriend played there earlier this year, his golf partner borrowed MJ's golf shoe's abode. What they didn't see upon opening is a golf bag fit for a king - er, I mean basketball legend.
That's right dolls, Michael Jordan's bag will never be duplicated. Displayed on the side of this ultimate lux is a golden replica of all six Championship Rings, the Nike emblem modeled after "his truly", and a pair of old school Jordan tennis shoes. With this fab bag, there is no need to ever write your name on tags- like ever. A beyond brilliant legend with a legendary bag. It fits - quite obvi!
Since we don't get to chat about Jordan often, lets look at this hall-of-fame hoopster stats, shall we?

Michael Jeffrey Jordan
Former Chicago Bulls Hall A Famer
Position: Shooting Guard/Small Forward
Years in the League: 1984-2003, selected third pick overall, by the Chicago Bulls
University: North Carolina
Achievements: Far too many to name - Six National Championships, five time most valuable NBA player, fourteen time all-star, and on and on, and on...
What You Didn't Know: Jordan majored in cultural geography in college, and if basketball didn't pan out, he considered becoming a teacher...

Emmitt Smith's How-To Guide For Dancing Athletes!

Image: ET Online
We were actually super duper impressed with last nights premiere of Dancing With the Stars - and per usual the athletes on the show did not disappoint.
While Ron Artest - aka Metta World Peace had a few missteps, we couldn't help buy love his flamboyant personality,  and extreme comfort level with his new hardwood.
Soccer star Hope Solo shined as the belle of the ballroom, and we couldn't be more thrilled for this Team USA soccer sweetheart.
However, few athletes come on the show and hit their marks perfectly the way Emmitt Smith did in season two. With the help of professional dance-lovely Cheryl Burke, the Dallas Cowboys Superstar gave touchdown shuffle an entirely different meaning.
Mister Smith has opened his ballroom book of wisdom to the next crop of athletes, and this how-to guide is priceless. Emmitt is darling as ever, you must check out his online tutorial. We find this Hall-a-Famer  just like pink lemonade - sweet and simply refresthing...

MNF Week Two - Rams Headin' To The Big Apple...

Image: (UPI Photo/Bill Greenblatt)
Dun Dun Dun Dun - gotta love the fall. The only time of the year when Monday's are totally acceptable, and quite in style. I say this for two reasons - Monday Night Football and Dancing With the Stars. The perfect mixture of glam and sport.
Eli Manning and the New York Giants Giants will host our favorite quarterback cutie - Sam Bradford, while he pleads the case as to why St. Louis should be the front runner in this years' NFC West battle. Both teams defeated last week, are looking to clinch their first win of the season. One of the most comparable match ups we've seen this year- it's St. Louis offense vs. New York defense.

Gotta love it,
Stay Fabulous,
